Winkler Woods has been slicing Hawaiian Koa and other exotic Hawaiian hardwoods such as Koa, Mango, Ohia, Monkey Pod - Ohai, Milo, Hawaiian Mahogany, Eucalyptus, Bloodwood, Toon and Sugi (Japanese Cedar) since 2003. Through Jorma’s Japanese company, Maikai Wood Hawaii, located in Aichi prefecture, Japan, we are able to supply raw and paperback veneers in various quantities for shipping worldwide.
We always have a healthy supply of koa, mango, and ohia veneers and hardwoods in our warehouse in Honolulu. Special, custom layup orders are possible on various substrates, but generally paperback veneers are our specialty. They roll up and ship easily around the world. We use Polybak paper by Richmond Industries made in the US in various sizes up to 4'x10' sheets sanded both on the face and paper backing. Our raw veneers supplied are sliced to typical European and US thicknesses approximately 0.50 – 0.60 mm and have been found in planes, trains and automobiles. *Well, they are in a train when we are carrying them from one place to another in Japan :) But we have been supplying the car, airplane and yacht industry for years with our exotics.
